research.
Your effort is helping us support patients and caregivers affected by childhood

Gulf to Goat Mission Statement:
The Mission of the United States Naval Academy (USNA) Class of '75 Gulf to Goat (G2G) charity bike ride is to embark on an unforgettable journey from Apalachicola, FL to the U.S. Naval Academy while uniting cyclists in a quest for physical fitness, camaraderie and charitable giving. By pedaling over 1100 miles through our great nation, we will honor the legacy of USNA Class of 1975 while supporting causes close to its members' hearts. We will pedal with purpose, have fun, forge bonds and make a meaningful difference one mile at a time.
Details:
The G2G charity bike ride will begin on 1 October 2025, in Apalachicola, transit up the east coast, arriving at the “Bill the Goat” (Naval Academy mascot) statue inside Gate 1 of the Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD, on 22 October, in time for the 50th Reunion festivities of USNA Class of 1975. Approximately sixteen (16) members of the Class of ’75 have committed to the G2G charity bike ride, not only to honor our Class legacy, but to also collect donations for four (4) other charities that are close to a Classmate. One of those charities is the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation/Sean’s Pals. The riders themselves are covering the entire cost of the ride, so all donations collected will go directly to the charity.

In 2012, Emily Whitehead, at just five years old, was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. After relapsing twice and running out of conventional treatment options, Emily became the first pediatric patient to receive CAR T-cell therapy, a groundbreaking treatment that uses the patient’s own immune cells to fight cancer. Against the odds, Emily survived—and today, she is cancer-free, thriving, and living proof that advanced therapies can change lives.
The Emily Whitehead Foundation was created by Emily and her family to increase awareness and access to these life-saving therapies, so other children can have the same opportunity for a cure. The foundation’s mission is to support patients and families, raise awareness of cutting-edge treatments, and advocate for wider access to these therapies across the globe.
The Emily Whitehead Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization.
Tax ID: 47-2277599
Donations are tax deductible in the United States.
All funds raised will go directly to the Emily Whitehead Foundation, with a planned announcement of our collective contribution at the 12th annual Sonographers Symposium in May 2025. Every gift, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to making a meaningful impact.
Thank you for helping us make a difference in the lives of children and families affected by childhood cancer.
